ASPERITY
The hole idea started after that Stefan Westerberg (Carnal Forge, ex
In Thy Dreams) and Petri Kuusisto (Carnal Forge, ex In Thy Dreams) decided
to leave Steel Attack to concentrate on their main band Carnal Forge.
Stefan who is a drummer from the beginning felt that he wanted to leave
the job as front man in Steel Attack. But he still wanted to do something
different to Carnal Forge (death/thrash metal) and still play the drums,
Petri felt the same since Petri is a guitar player and not a keyboard
player. After a year Stefan and Petri started to discuss to do something
about this idea. The next day they gathered up to work on some ideas.
In the beginning the song writing was just for fun but as the time went
on, they felt that this is something they really wanted to do. Months
passed by and finally they had four songs ready to record. But they
still had some problems to solve, first they had to find a good singer,
bass player and another guitarist to complete the line up. Petri and
Stefan asked a good friend Johan Jahlonen if he was interested to do
some damage and team up with the guys, and he gladly accepted the offer
since he had quit his former band and only played his one instrumental
material.
The guys teamed up in the rehearsal room the next day to try out the
songs, and it turned out great, so far so good. But there was still
one problem to solve, so they started to look for a singer and bass
player so they could complete the line up. After a few weeks they had
a couple of alternatives to choose between, in the end there was one
guy (Peter Kronberg) that felt right for the band. Rock`n roll.........the
line up was now complete and the band ASPERITY was formed.
ASPERITY started to rehears the songs before recording the first untitled
demo. After a couple of weeks they entered studio Black Lounge (Avesta/Sweden)
and started the recording, after one week the untitled demo finally
was completed.
ASPERITY signs with Arise Records and the debut album will be released
in Febrary 2004.
